A few words about moving to a new computer:

You have a couple of options for getting all of your data over to your shiny new Mac. iCloud will do some of the information but not all.
For $100 the Apple store will plug the two computers together and transfer everything. I mean everything. That means that all those old programs and old system files get moved too. I have cleaned up a lot of computers and saved gigs of space removing unneeded system files and applications that have moved from new computer to new computer with every transfer.

Let me help you to do the Data Transfer right.

I much prefer to transfer just your personal files and reinstall any applications that you might need leaving the things you no longer need on the old computer. That way the new computer has just what it needs and no old system files gumming up the works. The computer will run smoother, faster and you will have more available storage space. Your old computer will be just like before the data transfer, so if there is something we missed we can go back and get it any time, or I can make sure that your data is wiped off the old computer and get it recycled properly.

If you are passing down, recycling, or donating your old computer, I always recommend wiping off all your data with a fresh OS system install.  That way it will be just like a new computer for the next person using it with no worries about your personal data being out there no matter what happens to the computer.
